The PSENscan safety laser scanner is designed for precise and efficient two-dimensional area monitoring across a wide range of industrial applications. Offering a large 275° opening angle and a protected field range of up to 5.5 meters, it enables reliable detection of people and obstacles in both stationary and mobile environments. Users can define custom warning fields and protection zones, allowing the system to adapt seamlessly to different machine layouts, room structures, or automated guided vehicle (AGV) paths.
The PSENscan Configurator enables fast, intuitive setup of all scanner parameters. When integrated with Pilz solutions such as PNOZmulti or PSSuniversal, it becomes part of a comprehensive and economical safety system. PSENscan supports monitoring of up to three protection zones simultaneously, extended further by up to 70 switchable configurations for dynamic applications.
Multiple scanners (up to four) can be connected in series, reducing installation time and wiring effort. The device offers high resolution options (30, 40, 50, 70, 150 mm), an integrated operator display for immediate feedback, and a robust environmental tolerance of –10 °C to +50 °C. Serviceability is improved through accessories such as replaceable memory modules and exchangeable scanner heads.
Certified to EN IEC 61496-1 Type 3, EN ISO 13849-1 PL d/Cat. 3, and IEC 61508 SIL 2, the PSENscan offers advanced functions such as muting, EDM, override, restart interlock, and support for vertical applications depending on the version. With a reaction time of 62 ms and protection rating IP65, it provides a durable, high-performance solution for safeguarding personnel and optimizing machine productivity.
