The PNOZmulti 2 small controller series becomes even more versatile with its communication modules, which allow connection to virtually any common fieldbus or Ethernet system. These modules facilitate the transfer of diagnostic data, system status, and automation signals to higher-level control systems, making machine communication smoother and more transparent. Configuration is done easily via the PNOZmulti Configurator, where virtual inputs and outputs can also be defined for automation functions.

Switching to another fieldbus system requires no program changes β€” simply swap the fieldbus module. User-friendly diagnostics can be activated via PVIS, enabling clear-text fault messages and custom text integration to support rapid troubleshooting and reduce downtime. For further visualization, the solution is fully compatible with PASvisu and PMIvisu operator terminals.

A major advancement in this lineup is the support for Safety-over-EtherCAT (FSoE). The PNOZ m EF EtherCAT FSoE module allows both control and safety data to be transmitted over a single cable. Depending on the application, it can function as an FSoE Master, FSoE Slave, or EtherCAT Slave. This greatly simplifies wiring, accelerates commissioning, and supports up to 60 master–slave connections. It also integrates seamlessly with FSoE-capable products such as PSENradar and PMC drive technology.

Additionally, safe networking can be achieved using SafetyNET p, which connects up to 16 PNOZmulti 2 base units via real-time Ethernet. Using the PNOZ m EF SafetyNET module, systems can exchange 32-bit data across linked controllers with short cycle times. Configuration is handled through the PNOZmulti Network Editor, making it easy to link projects and share variables between connected systems.
